due to the fact that the film is all about three individuals dying due to acts of greed and selfishness, this film would be at least 16 and over.
It also contains a lot of things that only an older individual would understand, such as why certain characters did what they did and their motives.

Connected's Techniques
Here are some of the most noticeable techniques of the short film:
Mise En Scene:
Mise En Scene:
- Set: looks like a very stereotypical post apocalyptic enviornment, everything is barren and devoid of all signs of life except the three characters we see throughout the film, which gives us a clear indication where the film is set, which is after some sort of global disaster
- Costume:
- Similarities: the costumes of all three characters are all the same and bear resemblance to the diving suit that used to be used years ago. These costumes as a whole reinforce the Apocalyptic setting, especially with what appears to be breathing tubes attached to them.
- The Tubes: since these tubes look like breathing tubes, they specifically connotate that the air is highly toxic, so much so the two connected individuals need each others breath to survive, this implies that there is an uncanny sense of trust between these two individuals, and generally enforces the notion of survival and the lengths necessary to survive in this enviorment.
- Markings: The Markings on the characters foreheads, along with the colour of the non connected character, allows the audience to differentiate between the three characters
- Lighting: The lighting is very dark despite the fact the creators have included light from the sun, it is dark enough to enforce the barren feel the set gives off
- Establishing Shots of the enviorment: Sets the scene, as the scene is emphasised by the fact there is more than one
- Two Shots of the connected Individuals: Shows unity, and a seemingly high sense of trust between the two, as they are shown to completely rely on each other to survive. And how one is very willingly able to help the other
- Long shots and close ups of the golden man watching the other two characters: Gives a sense that he is very important to what is going to happen in the film, makes the audience think about his intentions, since it introduces us to what seems to be a self breathing device, that is slowly running out
- Longer takes of the connected individuals: this is so the unity of the two can be fully enforced, so that it is more striking when this unity is broken at the end of the film.
- Long takes of the dead bodies: this is so the audience can sympathise with them as much as possible, and to emphasise the negative impact of greed and selfishness
- Heightens when introducing golden man and when he confronts the connected pair: this is to make him seem more apparent, and to almost alarm the audience to his presence, it also gives a sense of something very huge is about happen, especially when he confronts the connected pair
- eerie music when one of the connected disconnects and starts fighting:shows the recklessness of his actions, and signifies a massive turning point in the plot.
Existing Product Research 1
Film Name: Connected
Synopsis: Set in the distant future, Connected is a story about survival and greed with a post apocalyptic wasteland as its backdrop. Survivors of an unknown disaster shuffle through a desolate landscape, as it quickly becomes clear that not everybody has the strength to survive.
this is the first product that I will be analysing; it is a short film of the thriller genre.

What I think I need to do to get a good grade
Research:
- Existing products related to genres that are a possibility for the final product
- Past Projects from students that did well
- research on certain type of media (short film, trailer, music video)
- convention research on a specific genre (after the first point is done)
- shot analysis of a clip
- shoot diary?
- Target audience research
- Plan everything from costume to shot angles
- Storyboarding
- Analyse the Storyboard so you can make it better
- experiment with the shots in your storyboard to improve it in ways you couldnt do through analysis
- Location shoot in depth, experiment with what is available
- step by step screenshots of product developments
What if I did a Short Film?
Would it inform or Entertain? Both
What will it be about? a man flashbacks different events in his life due to a rrealisatiomn that he could have wasted it all. It starts bad and could have some small humour to entertain, though the thoughts get progressively worse and more serious however, and the man is shown to be sinking deeper and deeper into depression, but he suddenly gets some resolve and refuses to give up. With the help of some good memories he is able to get enough resolve to become something spectacular
how would I do this? I could have quick takes of the flashbacks and the resent with cuts to interchange them, I could have shots of varying angles and length to show some different body language positions and emotions e.g medium close up of his head in his hands
what rescources would I have to do this? i can film in my house where I could play the part of the man, it can be also used as part of the flashbacks along with my school. clothes that are considered casual could be used as the costume, and if I am unable to find others to help me film flashbacks in live action (which is unlikely) I could animate them.

What if I did a Trailer? (initial idea/possibility)
What genre would I do? Thriller, as they often have the most straight foward conventions to follow.
What would it be about? a serial killer who enjoys toying with his victims before killing them, hides in various unexpected places around their house, he is so infamous that his voice strikes fear into people. So he calls his victims and taunts them before finally ending their lives. But one victim is too determined to die at this killers leisure, and the trailer would show suspensful clips and shots of the victim about to be killed while he is frantically trying to find a way to counter the killer.
How would I do this? I would have evry short takes of many clips that cut between each other, this would give a sense of tension, urgency and drama as the audience would have trouble keeping up which emulates how fast the main character has to react or think to the serial killers movements in order to survive, it would show high angle shots of telescopes/spyglasses (to show the audience the serial killer without revealing him) to show he has power, and some low angle shots of the victim, to show that he doesent have power.
Theese angles could be reversed in one shot, to give the main character the power, thus hinting his determination to survive, and his plans to stop the killer, while generating suspense.
How would I do this? There are many abstract and unique places at my home that a supposed serial killer could hide in, such as a big blue shed in my garden. Spygalsses should be asy to purchase, and I could subsitute binoculars. The main location would be my house, a consistent location which shouldnt go through any major changes

Review Of Skills
My best skill: The ability to be creative and think of imaginative ways to express a task.
What I would like to learn: I would like to learn how to widen my research on conventions, and try to apply that more without going off on a tangent due to creative impulses.
